NOT 1 BUT 3 IGS FIRED BY NOBAMA THE FRAUD!
Assigned Reading: Not Just Walpin! THREE I.G.'s Fired!
(FROM: American Thinker)
This is insane. Why isn't this story everywhere? (Rhetorical question -- I know why.)
According to Thomas Lifson over at the absolutely excellent American Thinker site, three inspectors general have been fired. All three were investigating various issues sensitive to the White House and Obama administration.
There's Gerald Walpin, who was investigating the pilfering of AmeriCorps money by Kevin Johnson, former NBA All-Star, current mayor of Sacramento, and staunch Obama supporter. There's Neil Barofsky who, charged with overseeing the federal stimulus spending, has been critical of the Treasury Department for apparently withholding information. And there's Judith Gwynne, tasked with oversight of the International Trade Commission, whose independence has come into question this year.
Great job by the folks at American Thinker. This is something that absolutely must be talked about, and must be catalogued for use later. If this had been a Republican in office, the news would be everywhere, Keith Olbermann would be peeing himself with joy, and lefties from coast to coast would be calling for hearings, if not impeachment. But, because Obama is the liberal Messiah, the political termination of three inspectors general get nothing in terms of news coverage.
QUICK UPDATE: No less of a hat-tip to American Thinker, as they do a great job, but if you would like to read the story behind the reports by Lifson and by Ed Morrissey at HotAir, take a look at the piece which ran today in the Chicago Tribune.
Of course, this changes very little about my perception that the media has largely ignored this story. It would be front-page news in The New York Times if former president George W. Bush--or any Republican president, for that matter--had fired three inspectors general. I am very encouraged that the Tribune is doing the right thing here, though, and I hope it continues.
