2007 is winding down.. finally! has been a long and difficult year, and so far, 2008 looks like it will be much the same for me.  With luck, by the end of 2008, i’ll be living in Texas in my own home with all my babies, my daughter close and my grandsons closer .  Wishing everyone a great new year in ‘08 and God Bless.

not much goin on, the babies are gittin bigger and older and starting to feel like ‘men’ instead of ‘boys’.. grin.. their nuts have fallen and they are confused as to what they are supposed to do.. right now they are all sleeping.

got a new 80gig hd from Tom (Thanks luv!) and spent all last week transfering files to it so i could format my big 160gig and clean it.  well forgot to transfer all my 2007 pictures and half the tubes i had saved didnt transfer properly, so…  gotta start over i reckon.  but now i have a clean computer again and split the 80 gig into 2 partitions, 30 gigs for windows and 50 for ‘other’ stuff.. so i figure it will be a couple months before i fill it up.. laffin.  have a great Thanksgiving all my USA friends! till next time, God Bless.

wow long time...

since i’ve posted anything.. well, that’s because my life is BORING! laffin.  Same $hit every day, just trying to keep up with the bills and survive.  Last 2 weeks of October, i was eating peanut butter and graham crackers every day, cuz that is all i had to eat in the house… other than ketchup (not much of that either), mustard, etc.. made a loaf of homemade bread which kept things different for a bit.  

Checkers and Tipper are growing like weeds.  Their older sister, Jimi, is doing very well.  katie has been letting her out more the last couple weeks, so she comes over to ‘visit’ or the boys and Buddymom go over to her place.. they have a great time playing and mock attacking each other.  The boys are a bit bigger than she is, but all 3 are nearly as big as their mother now.

Well, #1 went to his new home last week.. to Katie’s house *smile*.  She named him “jimmy’.  Still have Tipper and #3 with me, havent looked real hard for a home for #3, so unless an owner pops up out of the woodwork, i’m going to keep him.. they are just too adorable to part with.  Here’s a couple pix of them last week on their ‘birthday’, they were 7 weeks old.. they are eight weeks old today.. and so fiesty!! lol.

The babies are growing like little weeds.. they are starting to explore their world more and more.. they can get in and out of the box by themselves now, so i have to keep a close eye on them, as #1 likes to take off on his own and usually winds up falling under the bed.. laffin.  They are all so adorable, it’s going to be hard to find homes for them.

they are 4 weeks old (2 yesterday, #3 is 4wks today) now and am trying to get them to eat on their own, but mom usually eats whutever i give them, so i have to wait till she’s outside.  They aren’t much interested in ‘other’ food yet, but mom is running short of milk, so they’ll have to start eating on their own soon.

Baby Update

The babies are doing very well, all 3 fat and happy.  Buddy is an excellent mom, and only yesterday took some time away from them and went outside to do her ‘dailys’.. *smile*.  she only stayed out about 30 mins, but today she stayed out a couple hours, so basically we’re back on schedule.. she was going out early in the morning and coming back in about 9 am when i’d go out to feed Smokey.

BuddyGirl has her babies!

well she finally gave birth! Buddy was on my lap at 0330, 21 July, when her water broke.. the first baby started showing shortly after but was breech, so spent the next six hours trying to get it back in and out of the birth canal so it would turn around.. it didn’t turn around, but did get out of the way and Baby #1 was born at 1330 normal presentation!  Breech came out 2nd, at 1425.  Mama was cleaning them and taking care of them very well.  Finally about 0030, 22 July, Baby #3 joined the family.  Sadly, about 0400, Baby #4 was still-born and could not be revived. cry.  But mom and family is doing great and all the babies appear healthy.  All are eating and mom is taking good care of them.  I’ll bury baby 4 in a few hours, after the sun comes up.  Here are a few pics for ya to enjoy!

mom exhausted, babies 1 and 2 (under head is breech-Tipper).  Named the breech Tipper cuz i accidently pulled off the tip of his/her tail when i was trying to get her out.. can’t hardly tell the tip is gone, will grow over in a couple days.

well sad news.. “Rowdy” has to go.. he’s the banty rooster that someone dropped off here and now he is going to find a new home.. yesterday he attacked Yeller and ran him off into the woods for several hours.  Was nearly dark before he came home again and i could put him back in with his girls.  So, Rowdy has to go.  Can’t have him attacking and killing my prize rooster just cuz he can!  Called a friend of mine whose horses i take care of, to see if they’d like him, but they haven’t called back, so the answer is probably no.  In that case, I’ll drop Rowdy off at the animal shelter tonite and he can roost in the trees with the dozens of other ‘wild’ roosters living there.  Sad to see him go cuz he is so purty but another thing with him, even though i pulled his spurs off, he’s still beating up the hens too much.. “Little’n” is missing most of the feathers off her wings, looks like someone tried to eat her, but since it’s on both sides it’s about the spot where Rowdy ‘sits’ on em when he’s gittin nookie.. just too rough on my girls, and they come first, before any rooster!   later!

 

Got another new toy from my friend “T”! weeeehooo., i love this little gizmo.  I can use it as a movie camera (with sound!), takes pretty good pics, mp3 player, movie player, pic storage for showing folks ur fav pics without having to haul ur computer around *giggle*, a web cam, an audio recorder, and multi-shot camera.  it’s awesome!  called a spectare 7–n-1 and i just love it!  So, here’s a new pic of me and my grand-nephews that my sister took (who is very digitally challenged! lol) and it came out great as u can see.

Just wanted to send a special Thank You to a very dear friend of mine.  He sent me a couple of digital cameras and i’ve been using them every day to take new pics!! I love these cameras!!!!!!! they take awesome pics and one even has a microphone builtin that adds sound to the movies i take!!!!!! weeeeeeee!  “T” u’ve been a special friend for about 15 yrs now and u always add a smile to my day and sunshine to a rainy outlook.  you’ve been my rock when needed an anchor and i’m forever in your debt! Love you always!

a surprise!

look what we found wandering around yesterday with my ‘girls’?  aint he purty! 

caught him late last nite after he ‘roosted’ with my ladies on the rabbit hutch.. he wasn’t terribly happy about it, but he didn’t cause much fuss.  Put him in my cage with fresh hay and went out early this morning and gave him fresh water and some food, and pulled his spurs off.  He’s quite happy in there, now to get Yeller to leave him alone! lol.  Gotta catch Yeller tonite and pull his spurs off so when i turn the little guy loose, they won’t hurt each other.

well well

i’ve changed the format of this page, do u like it?  had some problems, of course, nothing new there.. blogger can be such a pain, especially since google took it over.. but i think it’s all better now.  a post i made 4 days ago finally showed up.. laffin.. i hate computers.

have been having a blast playing with my new cameras.  have made movies with SOUND and that is sooooooooooo kewl! here’s a new pic of Charlotte.  She’s been laying an egg about every other day, although sometimes i cant find WHERE she’s been laying them, so haven’t gotten them all.  never have found her a boyfriend, and now it’s too late to order any goslings, as they are all gone online.. and i didn’t have the extra cash to order any.  unreal how expensive they are, when i only paid $3 for Charlotte.. cheapest i found online in one of my sources was $22 bucks for a pair of african geese.  a male alone is 15 bucks and i have to order a minimum of 25 (chickens or other) to make a shipment.  so it sucks.  oh well, maybe i will find her a mate locally, eventually.

well i bought a battery charger for AA’s on ebay for my cameras that a very special friend sent me.  i also got a 1 gig card for one of the cameras and it’s working great.. made a couple ‘movies’ and this one camera even has a microphone! is so kewl.. now i have something new to play with again.

had to format the pos computer this weekend.  kept konking out on me and my lights and fans wouldn’t work, the frontpanel quit working, lots of things.  installed sp2 since i have a 3.06 gig processor now and my 1 gig memory works, so hoping it won’t burn things up like it did in the old pos.  still can’t get the front panel usb ports to work tho.. will fiddle with that later.  have fun ya’ll!

 

we are gittin RAIN today!!!!!! whooooooeeeeeee! lots and LOTS of rain!!! i’ve known it was coming for weeks, and we’ve had a few sprinkles but today is a downpour.. and am so thankful to God for it, we desperately needed it.  This should put all the forest fires out for good now.. still had some woods burning 30 miles north of us but this will definitely put them out.  No lightening or anything with this beautiful rain.. so shouldn’t start any new fires, and hopefully, the burn ban will be lifted and we can burn trash again. hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend.  we had a small cookout here, i did the chicken so it wouldnt git burned to a crisp this time (lol) and the weather was great and everyone had a good time.  very nice weather but we sure need some rain!  “arthur” says it’s going to rain soon, but of course, i never know when.. just that it’s going to .. eventually.. somewhere near us or on us. lol 

My great-aunt Tilly died on the 19th of May.  She was an awesome lady.  She’d been in a nursing home for the last 5 years or so.. we always had a great time visiting her on her farm in texas.. she made homemade bread and butter, using the milk from her own cows.  We’d spend our days ‘gittin lost’ in the fields and rarely came home before dark.  She was one very special lady and i’ll miss her a lot, but i will always have my memories of my childhood summers spent on the farm.  God Bless u Tilly, now ur with Oswald, Raymond, and Mom.

well i forget about blogging and notice it has been over a month since i posted.. not much going on other than just trying to survive on a daily basis. :)  one thing i hadn’t posted about was that i finally got a cell phone! bought a cheapie prepaid monthly service back in january, but now i have a bells-and-whistles phone with tmobile, and it’s pretty kewl.  can surf the web on my phone, got programs to convert my own music to ringtones and such as that and have the cable to connect my phone to the computer so don’t have to ‘pay’ for downloads anymore.  amazing how many free sites there are where u can download stuff to ur phone from a web page on ur phone.. not bad for only a fee of 6 bucks a month.  i’ve had a blast playing with it. 

so anyway, that’s pretty much all the ‘big’ news i’ve had lately.  Happy Memorial Day, and remember a Veteran in your prayers! (like me!!)

aint I purtttttyyy! This is Yeller, my Buff Orpington rooster.. Rosie the hen is right behind him on the left.. he is soooo purty, weighs about 10 lbs (which is large for his breed) and a very sweet bird.  He used to try and hump the ducks cuz the hens would run from him and Freckles would knock him off if he was close, but now he “gets some” now and then so he leaves the ducks alone.. laffin.. also, Charlotte is much bigger and she protects the ducks from him now.

well having to do this manually cuz blogger completely changed things and now my blogjet dont work.. boooohooooo. i hate it when companies buy out good sites/software and then screw it up.. sigh. so how has ur month been? Happy Memorial day everyone, and don't forget to hug a veteran!!!!!! (like me!) *grin*

Brrrrrrrrrr i think winter finally hit florida!!!! rained really hard yesterday between midnite and 4 am then after the sun came up, got real pretty.. still a bit chilly tho.  Today is only about 50 degrees right now and its after 9 am.. heater goin full blast, i’m sittin here with sweatpants, sweatshirt and a heavy sweater and still cold! *smile*.. oh well.

my birthday is in two days, but sis took me out to ‘celebrate’ on friday.. we had a very good day, she bought me a bunch of new clothes and we pigged out on chinese food and crab legs.. yummmm.  still can’t believe i’m gonna be 51.. still dont feel like 50 yet!! lol.
