well sad news.. “Rowdy” has to go.. he’s the banty rooster that someone dropped off here and now he is going to find a new home.. yesterday he attacked Yeller and ran him off into the woods for several hours.  Was nearly dark before he came home again and i could put him back in with his girls.  So, Rowdy has to go.  Can’t have him attacking and killing my prize rooster just cuz he can!  Called a friend of mine whose horses i take care of, to see if they’d like him, but they haven’t called back, so the answer is probably no.  In that case, I’ll drop Rowdy off at the animal shelter tonite and he can roost in the trees with the dozens of other ‘wild’ roosters living there.  Sad to see him go cuz he is so purty but another thing with him, even though i pulled his spurs off, he’s still beating up the hens too much.. “Little’n” is missing most of the feathers off her wings, looks like someone tried to eat her, but since it’s on both sides it’s about the spot where Rowdy ‘sits’ on em when he’s gittin nookie.. just too rough on my girls, and they come first, before any rooster!   later!
